Windsurfing
Active since: <2000
RAHRC offers windsurfing equipment at all levels, from stable and wide boards for first practice, to intermediate boards for high-speed cruising, and to the more aggressive small waveboards that require lots of wind and skills.
Courses
Interested in windsurfing ? RAHRC is now offering windsurf courses to the members. This 2-day, full weekend event turns everyone into a windsurf beginner, without requiring any prior knowledge nor sailing experience. The only condition for participation, apart from a positive attitude, is being a competent swimmer.
The course covers admin procedures, safety on land and water, windsurfing jargon, care for and handling of equipment, dry practice, and of course the real thing – out on the water. Conditions for learning at RAHRC are almost ideal with warm and clear waters, and the ever-present watchful eyes from the boatmen at the Club.
Other activities
In adition, the Section can organize select advanced classes on request, occasional off-site windsurfing trips, participation with windsurfing races during the yearly Sailing Regatta, and – occasionally – a Round the Island race.
Practical guidance
We want everyone to enjoy windsurfing at RAHRC in a responsible manner. Treat the equipment with care, as if it were your own. Rinse all equipment in freshwater after use. Replacement parts are very difficult to come by, and by nature the sport involves a number of small items (universal joints, fins, bolts). This requires diligence and care from everyone involved to avoid losing these.
